Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily) has established this Privacy Notice for the handling of Personal Data of data subjects using the Mobily Website (hereinafter referred to as “You”, “Your” or “Yours”). Mobily is committed to protecting the privacy and security of its customers’ personal data and has developed this privacy notice to demonstrate that commitment. This Privacy Notice has been prepared in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/19) Dated 9/2/1443H and its Implementing Regulations. Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily) is one of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s leading telecommunications and digital services providers. As the Controller of your Personal Data, Mobily is responsible for determining the purposes and means of processing your information in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law (“PDPL” hereinafter)

Please note that providing some personal information is essential to access Mobily’s services, as required by the Communications and Information Technology Law issued under Royal Decree No. M/106, dated 2/11/1443H, and its executive regulations. If there is any change in your provided data (such as the national address, contact information, or renewal/update of identity), please notify us to take the necessary actions. If your data is not updated within the required time period, Mobily reserves the right to suspend or stop processing the data in accordance with the Communications Law.

You can browse our website and use our online services without providing any personal information directly. However, Mobily may automatically collect some information to enhance your experience, offer better service, or analyze data and generate internal reports that meet business requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, your IP address, cookies, browser type and version, device information, operating system, regional settings, and other details related to your interactions with the website, such as pages visited and browsing duration.

Further, explicit consent will also be collected for processing credit & health data and for activities involving automated decision making, unless specific legal exceptions apply.

  • Identification and contact details such as name, national ID or Iqama number, date of birth, nationality, gender, address, mobile number, and email address, to verify your identity, activate services, manage your account, and communicate with you.
  • Service and usage information including call, SMS, and data usage details, device identifiers, cookies, and location data needed to operate, maintain, and improve our services
  • Customer interaction records such as inquiries, complaints, feedback, and communication with Mobily’s customer support channels.
  •  Network and operational data used to ensure service reliability, detect and resolve technical issues, and enhance network performance.
  •  Vendor and partner information such as business contact details required for onboarding, contracting, and service delivery.
How We Collect Your Personal Data

We collect personal data through various channels, including:

  • Products and Services: When You register, subscribe, or enter into a contract to use Our telecommunications or digital services.
  • Direct Interactions: When you fill out forms, contact us through our website, email, customer care channels, enquire/purchase our products and services at Our shops and branches, or participate in promotions.

As a Mobily customer, You have the following rights: 

  1. Right to be Informed: You must be informed about the reasons for collecting Your personal data, the identity of the data controller, and any potential risks of not providing the requested data.
  2. Right of Access: You can request access to Your personal data.
  3. Right to Correction: You may request corrections or updates to inaccurate or incomplete personal data held by the Us
  4. Right to Erasure: You can request the deletion of your personal data if it is no longer necessary for the original purpose or if You withdraw consent.
  5. Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw previously given consent at any time, except where the law mandates otherwise.
  6. Right to Obtain Personal Data: You can request a copy of your personal data in a readable format to understand what is being held about You.
  7. Right to File a Complaint: You have the right to submit a complaint to the relevant regulatory authority if You believe their personal data has been misused or their data privacy rights have been violated, in accordance with applicable laws.

Mobily is committed to informing you of your rights and has established dedicated channels to help you exercise them. We aim to respond to all data protection–related requests or complaints within 30 days and maintain records of all submissions in accordance with PDPL requirements

The ability to exercise certain rights such as access, correction, or erasure may be subject to lawful limitations where the continued processing of Personal Data is required to comply with applicable regulations, fulfil contractual obligations, support security and fraud-prevention measures, or where the data is relevant to ongoing investigations or necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
 
Mobily requires all employees and individuals with access to Personal Data to handle such data in accordance with the PDPL, its Implementing Regulations, this Privacy Notice, and internal policies. Any unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, destruction, or other misuse of Personal Data is strictly prohibited.

Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action in accordance with Mobily’s HR policies, including warnings, suspension of access, or termination of employment. Mobily reserves the right to pursue all appropriate legal remedies in instances of intentional, reckless, or negligent misuse of Personal Data, including seeking compensation for damages or losses arising from such misconduct.
 

How Long Do We Store Your Personal Data

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to respond to inquiries, resolve disputes, and meet legal or regulatory obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and applicable legal requirements. When personal data is no longer required, Mobily securely deletes, anonymizes, or disposes of it in accordance with internal policies and relevant laws to ensure your privacy is protected.

 

Collection of Data of Minors or Legally Incompetent

We are committed to protecting the privacy of all our customers.

Individuals under the age of 15: We do not collect or process any personal data from individuals under the age of 15.

Individuals aged 15 to 17 (Minors): In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), individuals aged 15 or older may subscribe to certain Mobily products and services. For these subscriptions and the processing of their Personal Data, it is necessary that the subscription is entered into with the express consent and involvement of their legal guardian or parent, who is responsible for the contractual obligations.

Appendix

Definitions :

  • “Personal Data” means any data, regardless of its source or form, that may lead to identifying an individual specifically, or that may directly or indirectly make it possible to identify an individual, including name, personal identification number, addresses, contact numbers, license numbers, records, personal assets, bank and credit card numbers, photos and videos of an individual, and any other data of personal nature.
  • “PDPL” means the Personal Data Protection Law in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued by a Royal Decree M/19 dated 09/02/1443AH corresponding to September 16, 2021, and approving resolution No. 98 dated 07/02/1443AH corresponding to September 2021, which the latest update to the PDPL came into force on September 14, 2023. Any reference to PDPL shall include the latest amendment and update thereof and any subsequent amendments or updates thereto.
  • “Privacy Notice” means this privacy notice including its terms and conditions stipulated herein.
  • “Regulations” means the applicable implementing regulations of the PDPL.
  • “Mobily” means Etihad Etisalat Company, a Saudi joint stock company incorporated under the Commercial Law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Any reference to “We”, “Our”, or “Us” shall mean and refer to Mobily.
  • “Utilization” means Your use of the Website, whether for requesting a certain service or product, submitting a complaint, applying for a job, and/or any other use may be applicable on the Website from time to time, for which the Personal Data is required.
